FHG "Grown On Grass" herdbulls are grazed on mixed grass fescue pastures and supplemented with a ration designed to limit the use of corn, which has long been the traditional primarily ingredient in growing rations. We replace most, not all, of the corn with bi-product roughage feeds, such as Distiller’s grains, soybean-hull pellets, etc. These feeds are proven to be much safer for the developing bulls.

Our genetics are not only bred to meet industry standards for growth and carcass traits, they must also meet Mother Nature’s. By forcing the bulls to develop & perform in pasture conditions with a grass intake that makes up over 60% of their diet, the bulls can not be pampered or sheltered from the environmental challenges they will face everyday on your farm. Whether it is the fescue, pinkeye, or the constant physical exertion, they’ll have to handle it or be washed out. That way, you can feel confident these bulls will work for you; not the other way around!
